Ventriloquist, Karl Jeffery - The man who talks to his hand
A brief biography
Karl Jeffery is a professional ventriloquist and magician (specialising in comedy magic).
He started showbiz life in 1997 as a radio presenter and hosted the ‘Breakfast Show’ at a number of radio stations in the South East of England. In 2003 he began performing magic shows at the weekends with a couple of puppets, a large rabbit called Henri, and a bird called Douglas.
The show was an instant hit. Karl soon realised it wasn’t the magic that was so popular, but the puppets. He added more characters and slowly his regular act went from a 40 minute magic show featuring 2 puppets, to a full 60 minute show with a full time cast of 6 regular puppets and a sprinkling of magic. The show was called the ‘Animupps Magic & Puppet Show’.
In 2004 he side stepped from what could have been a very successful career in broadcasting to pursue his passion of entertaining with his puppets. He hasn’t looked back. He’s now in constant demand to provide entertainment for all kinds of events with his fresh and unique style of family entertainment.
In 2011 he changed the name of his show from the ‘Animupps Magic & Puppet Show’ to ‘Karl Jeffery – The Puppet Man’, for the simple reason it was easier for people to remember.
His most famous puppets are Willy’M, the naughtiest puppet in the world, and Itchy, the monkey. But there are several others desperate to steal the limelight. Each show is suitable for the whole family and always creates an atmosphere filled with fun and laughter. The audience is often laughing long after its over.
